How it works

Working with the cemetery

Every cemetery sets its own rules about size, material and placement, and they differ from one to the next and often between sections of the same grounds. We navigate it with you, and after forty years we know what each of them expects.

We are a shop that specializes in making monuments and markers, and we work with your cemetery on behalf of you and your family, from design to installation. Not everyone realizes there is a choice about who makes the monument. There is, and this is how the work divides.

The cemetery decidesWe handleYou decide
What size and type of stone is allowed in your section. Whether it can be upright or must be flat. Foundation specifications, permit fees and installation windows. Rules on vases, statuary and plantings. Reading their requirements and designing within them. Filing the permits. Coordinating the foundation and the installation date. Setting the stone. The stone, the color, the wording, the artwork, and how long you take to decide any of it.

While we cannot change the rules the cemetery sets, we do know them very well after forty years of working with them.

What to bring

We just need the cemetery name and section to start a quote.

Both are usually written on the deed, or on the paperwork that came from the funeral home. With them we can tell you what size is allowed in that spot, and give you a real number the same visit.

If you cannot find the paperwork, call us at (650) 755-1117 or come by the office and we will work through it with you.
